Rebuilding Hope

Project Sunshine is an initiative by Project Flashlights aimed at transforming under-resourced schools into vibrant learning spaces. Born out of the need to restore dignity and joy to education, the project focuses on revamping broken classrooms, painting educational murals, and creating safe, welcoming environments for children in slum and tribal communities.

Project Sunshine began with small-scale school renovation drives in Jabalpur. What started as a modest effort quickly grew into a movement, powered by local volunteers, youth changemakers, and community support.

🌱 Our Journey:

Revamped 10+ classrooms across slum and rural schools
Impacted over 750+ children by improving their learning environments
Engaged students, teachers, and parents in co-creating joyful spaces
Partnered with artists, educators, and youth fellows from across India

🛠️ What We Do:

Repair and repaint damaged classrooms
Create educational wall art and murals
Provide basic furniture like benches and blackboards
Organize volunteer revamp drives with youth and local communities

A child’s environment shapes their dreams. Project Sunshine brings light to neglected corners of our education system, ensuring that every child has a space they feel proud to learn in.

This is the daily reality for children at Government Primary School, Katra Belkheda — the only primary and middle school in the area.

Without urgent support, this school may soon become unfit for learning.
